CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The start of Colleen McTeague's final fall semester at West Virginia University didn't go according to plan.
When McTeague, a senior speech pathology and audiology major at WVU, arrived back at her McLane Avenue apartment in August, she and her two roommates were shocked to discover some kind of mold or mildew covering their belongings.
"It was white on the back of our closet doors, our stuff was kind of green. It was just covering everything. You couldn't miss it," McTeague said. "I was the last one to come. The two of them were cleaning everything, but I had a pillow and a few things we could save to show our landlord.
"We took photos of everything and wrote down everything we did," she said. "We didn't really do anything until our landlord came in and looked at it. We wanted them to see it first."
