A contractor to remediate suspected mold in the Firemen’s Training Center here has been selected, but the Brenham Fire Department’s non-profit volunteer group which owns the building will hold off on awarding a contract until questions are answered.

BFD Chief Ricky Boeker said four bids were received from contractors, ranging from $25,000 to $85,000. A building committee met Monday night to review the proposals.

“We narrowed it down to one, but we have some questions about their quote and what they’re going to do,” Boeker said this morning. “We hope we can get those questions answered and then award a bid this week, because we need to get started on it.”
