It's been a long time coming, but the old Carquest building on Boonville's downtown square is finally being demolished.
The Warrick County Commissioners approved a resolution at its Monday meeting, as well as a declaration of emergency so the county could use funds from the cumulative capital development fund to perform the needed work.
Board president Don Williams said the old Carquest building is not attached to the building beside it, even though it appears that they are connected.
The commissioners will now begin seeking quotes from area companies to perform the demolition.
