FRAMINGHAM —

The Danforth Museum and School of Art says it is exploring a possible move from its longtime home at 123 Union Ave. into the Jonathan Maynard Building in Framingham Centre.

Danforth Executive Director Katherine French said the museum’s Board of Trustees continues to toy with the idea of leaving the decaying town-owned Danforth Building.

“We’re looking at a lot of possibilities,” French said yesterday. “We actually find the Maynard really intriguing.”

The town is now accepting lease proposals for the Maynard Building, a vacant, former schoolhouse at 14 Vernon St. The 28,000-square-foot building features a renovated brick exterior, but it needs work inside, including some mold removal.
