A LEADING housing charity today launched a major campaign aimed at tackling landlords responsible for squalid homes in Liverpool.

Shelter has teamed up with the ECHO to investigate cases of people living in properties which leave them at risk of disease and even death.

Its research found cases of children suffering asthma from the effects of damp and mould, floors gnawed by rats and some families even having to live without any floors at all in some rooms.
