SACRAMENTO, CA - After suffering through months of problems, California officials want to move state workers out of a moldy government office building in Sacramento.

Ramon Hirsig, executive director of the Board of Equalization, has persuaded lawmakers to draft a bill that would authorize his tax-collecting agency to find a new home.

The 24-story building at 450 N Street has been plagued by construction defects since it opened in 1993. Employees complain of broken elevators, leaky windows and mold in the walls. Four entire floors are sealed off because of potential health concerns.
