We recently reported on a retired New York City police officer who bought a condo at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. He showed us mold is still in his condo, months after he was told the mold remediation project was complete.

A similar story came from another Marina Inn condo owner who said he took his life savings to buy his vacation home. Now, because of mold, he said two years later, he never spent a single night in it. Burroughs and Chapin said they couldn’t comment.

Stephen Ferro said he’s losing his $650,000 condo to mold. Ferro purchased his condo in July 2007. He planned to visit the following month. Then in early August, he said he received a call about the mold problem. Ferro said he was told there was “a little issue” with mold and mildew contamination in his condo. He was then told, “it was nothing to worry about.“
