Mold has been discovered in the air-conditioning units at a building in the Urban County Government Center on Barret Avenue, prompting the precautionary relocation of about 60 civilian and uniformed employees of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

At least three police department employees with existing respiratory-related conditions reported that they were bothered by the mold and that their conditions were aggravated, said Chad Carlton, spokesman for Mayor Jerry Abramson.

He said the employees will be relocated to police headquarters at Seventh and Jefferson streets and to a metro-owned office building at First and Liberty streets.
