Court will be held in construction trailers parked outside the Washington Township district judge's office next month as work crews begin the removal of mold from the 11-year-old building.

County officials learned earlier this month they will have to temporarily evacuate the 2,500-square-foot building that serves as offices and a courtroom for District Judge Elise Glenn.

Special Courts Administrator Don Heagy said the land around the county-owned building, which sits on property rented from the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, is prone to flooding.

The office has routinely flooded, but after a heavy rain at the end of the summer, the water damage in the building became severe and required work crews to strip carpet and dry out walls.
