ENVIRONMENTAL health officers have been called in after a serious mould problem was found at a student house.
Ian Thomson said his 19-year-old daughter, Kirsten, rang him in tears after the fungus was found growing on her bedroom carpet, up the walls, and on her clothes.
It is her first year living outside of University of Nottingham accommodation and the house in Elmsthorpe Avenue, in Lenton, is owned by private landlord Mr DS Laurd.
Mr Thomson, who lives in Norwich, wrote a letter to the Post after he became concerned about his daughter's welfare.
He said: "I've been very distressed.
"It's not that I am that kind of person – just that when your daughter phones you crying, you just feel you can't do anything."
Miss Thomson moved into the house with four other girls in September after signing a one-year contract
