ATTLEBORO - First comes the rain, then the floods, then the mold.

Donny McKendall, manager of an area mold mitigation company, says he expects that with recent onslaughts of rain, he'll have calls flowing in within the next week on into summer.

"It usually takes a while," said McKendall, manager of Servpro of the Attleboros, given residents' immediate concern is getting the water out.

But then, there's the smell.

"Because of the rain, I'm definitely expecting an increase with people with flooded basements - they're going to get musty, moldy," he said. Monday marked the start of what is forecast to be a three-day deluge, coming after two weeks of already substantial rainfall.
