•Three police department employees reported health problems that may be the result of mold and fungal infestations.
• The reported symptoms began after the Safety Center flooded this spring.
• Fungal concentrations in the air in the Safety Center were not significant, but high concentrations of several fungi were found in samples from the building’s wallboard and paint.
• Several inches of stagnant water and decaying building materials were discovered in the building’s crawl space.


More than a month after spring flooding left at least an inch of standing water in portions of the Safety Center, fungi in the walls of the building may be making Northfield Police Department employees sick.
