An assessment of the Colbert County Board of Education offices that revealed the presence of mold didn't surprise Superintendent Billy Hudson.
He said he's known that for months.
"We knew from day one there was mold in this building," Hudson said during a sometimes heated meeting Thursday with the Colbert County Commission. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that."
After a PowerPoint presentation by a Decatur-based environmental consultant, the commission was informed they must renovate the board of education offices in the Colbert County Office Complex on U.S. 72 in Tuscumbia.
Hudson, however, said he would not move his staff back into the building even if it is renovated.
