HUNTSVILLE, AL - Several months ago a Taking Action Investigation exposed the dirt on a company called Pure Kleen. Turns out the company was not so clean. It was an air duct cleaning business that preyed on valley consumers convincing them they had mold. Pure Kleen may have bamboozled a lot of people but they couldn't con the justice system.
A Huntsville senior citizen hired Pure Kleen to clean her air ducts after seeing their full-page ad in the local newspaper.
She doesn't want us to reveal her identity.
She says, "Well I thought that was a pretty good deal."
But then air duct cleaning turned into something most of us are afraid of.
She was told she had mold in her house even before the technicians stepped foot in the door.
Suddenly the ad for $79.95 turned into $5,000.
She says, "I fell for it and began to think after they left this doesn't sound right. I think it's a rip-off..they've been trained to say this. "
