UNION GAP, Wash. — City officials here may consider closing down City Hall after discovering last week high concentrations of a toxic form of mold in several areas, including the mayor’s office.
Fire Chief Chris Jensen said an environmental assessment firm found at least 15,000 spores of stacci botrus taken from a three-by-four inch sample of drywall in mayor Jim Lemon’s office. The "black mold" is considered toxic, he said. The firm notified Jensen of the test results on Friday, and he then sent a memo to Lemon.
