SAUGUS - Parents might find it questionable but according to the state the air quality in the Belmonte Middle School has come a long way and is about as good as it's going to get for a 50-year-old school.
The Board of Health along with the School Committee and Michael Feeney, the director of indoor air quality for the state's Department of Public Health, held court at the middle school Monday to review the most recent air quality test done on the school.
The school's air quality was tested in January after a complaint was filed regarding a child who had become sick.
Feeney said he first looked at the school in 2000.
"Ten years later this building is totally different from what it was," he told the four parents who came to the hearing. "There have been a number of things done to improve the situation."
