Major remediation work to "curtail the growth of mold" at Dozier Elementary School likely will get under way this summer now that a new environmental report indicates that the air quality at the school is "normal."
Superintendent Barbara Thompson on Friday presented the Montgomery County Board of Education with a Feb. 25 letter from the firm EnviroTek stating that Dozier's indoor air quality was "normal," with the exception of relative humidity in the school, which was at a low of about 30 percent. Ideal levels are about 45 to 55 percent, according to the report.
"This is probably one the cleanest buildings in the school district," Thompson said EnviroTek's report indicates.
