A motion to approve a $24,000 revision to the Capital Projects budget for Life/Safety expenditures pertaining to Foley Middle School was unanimously passed by the Baldwin County Board of Education in a special board meeting on Monday afternoon in Loxley.

According to the meeting agenda, in September 2009, mold was found in the Foley Middle School cafeteria and immediate action was taken to correct the problem.

Cason Environmental & Demolition Services LLC., of Tampa, Fla., was contracted for 12 weeks at $2,000 per week to set out eight Dri-Eaz dehumidifiers and visually inspect them, change out the water on the weekends, properly dispose of materials in authorized landfill and provide insurance necessary for fine cleaning and disposal, according to board documents.
