A handful of parents and other family members spoke up at Thursday’s School Committee meeting regarding concerns about mold discovered at the Drewicz Elementary School.

“I have pictures in regards to an ongoing problem at this time,” said Lynn Tarasuik, who has a grandchild at the Hood Street school.

Tarasuik handed out photographs that showed black blotches along a wooden stud, a floor and a wall. The blotches, she said, were mold. Another photograph she distributed showed a rusted pipe that runs under a staircase, which Tarasuik said was the leaky pipe that caused the problem. She said the stud had been removed, but she was concerned with a large discolored splotch on the floor.
