SARATOGA SPRINGS — Preliminary test results came back negative on Skidmore College’s Starbuck Center, which is being closed amidst serious health concerns.
In January, shortly before the current semester began, multiple employees reported a health issue they believe is related to their work space.
As a precautionary move, Skidmore began the building’s phased closure last Monday and has hired an outside independent firm to test for possible harmful substances.
“In sum, we have no information at this point to suggest that community members should be concerned,” Skidmore spokeswoman Andrea Wise said Friday in a statement. “Testing and other reviews are ongoing, and if we do become aware of any information that causes us concern, we will share it immediately — as we have done so far.”
