BROOKLYN, NY (PIX11)—
P.S. 17 and M.S. 577 are housed in the same building and is currently covered in scaffolding for about a year. While there have been no complaints for some time, now parents are outraged.

"Just because they have a thin shield on the outside of the building doesn't mean the dust doesn't come through," said Norma Alvira, a concerned grandmother.

Numerous complaints have flooded in from parents and grandparents, all saying their child's classroom is unsafe because of air quality issues. Parents, who spoke to PIX11, said their children have suffered from frequent headaches and stomach aches. Others have even vomited as a result of constant fumes from the construction. Seventh grader Brian Cruz, said his asthma is agitated almost daily from mold.
