Ever since she moved into public housing at Baldwin's Run last March, Kimberly Washington said she noticed her children getting sick more than usual and their allergies were worse than ever. Her son got headaches. Her daughter developed a strange rash.
She heard similar stories from neighbors and began to wonder if their symptoms -- everything from upset stomachs to asthma attacks -- might be connected to their homes.
Washington said several of them have been complaining to their property managers, Pennrose Management Company, about water damage and suspected mold for months.
