SCHENECTADY-- A 64-year-old church is getting a $2.2 million face-lift aimed at fixing a long-standing drainage problem that led to persistent mold in the parish hall.

Despite efforts to get rid of the fungus, the Rev. James McDonald, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, said the problem only got worse over the years.

"We lost members because of health problems due to the mold," McDonald said.
