Could your home be making you sick? A Boone County couple hoped that a free home inspection would answer their questions.
The couple's daughter, Lacy Johnson, said her parents just haven't been well since moving into their new home.
The Boone County Health and Sanitation Department said they now have the tools to inspect homes and find problems after receiving funding from the Environmental Protection Agency.
KCCI followed Mike Salati, the Boone County Sanitarian, Monday on his inspection of Johnson's parents' home.
"We always are hoping to walk in and find the proverbial smoking gun," said Salati.
Using a variety of high-tech meters, Salati tested the air quality and looked for leaks.
