The Brenham Fire Department’s training center could be reopened for use by early November, officials say.

BFD’s Building Committee has selected a contractor for the remediation of suspected mold in the facility, which forced it to be shut down last month.

The committee received four bids for the services and selected Blackmon Mooring of Houston.

“The building committee did a lot of research on the companies to come up with the best one,” said Fire Chief Ricky Boeker.
